Ultimate Air Race Championship Takes Red Bull Style Air Racing to the Extreme.

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 07, 2011 – The Ultimate Air Race Championship (UARC) which pits the world's greatest pilots at the controls of space age technology aircraft head-to-head in what has been called the Super Bowl of Aviation is coming to America.  

May 27-29th pilots from around the country were put thru their paces in a grueling series FAA Approved qualifying trials in the high desert of Southern California.  Seven pilots met the qualifications to be issued the highly specialized UARC Racing Qualification License which allows them to participate in UARC Races worldwide.   To be considered for UARC Racing pilots are required to have 2000 hours of experience plus formation cards and aerobatic waivers.

The UARC is the vision of Award winning Producer Frederico Lapenda, one of the pioneers of Mixed Martial Arts, the fastest growing sport in the country generating  millons of dollars in domestic Pay-Per-View revenues annually.  The UARC features six pilots from around the world competing 10 feet off the ground on the same race course at the same time.

Launched in 2010 the UARC debuted in cities across China to crowds of more than 500,000 and unprecedented television coverage.  Now for the first time, the UARC is coming to America, starting their 2011 Season with racing in Camarillo California August 20-21st.  

"The UARC is a combination of NASCAR on steroids, a cage fight with airplanes and Formula 1 with wings all rolled into one" says UARC's CEO Frederico Lapenda.   "When you see six pilots battle it out 10 feet above the ground, just a few feet apart at speeds faster than any car race it will blow your mind"

The UARC pilots are selected from the wolds best Military Aviators, Hollywood Stunt Pilots, Civilian Test Pilots and Competition Aerobatic Pilots from around the globe.  "We started with a pool of over 500 applicants from 11 countries and put them thru an intensive evaluation and qualifying process" comments former FAA Inspector/NTSB Investigator Ben Coleman. "UARC is confident we oled technology on mobile phone have selected a unique profile of aviator who is competitive and capable of the unique requirements of UARC Competition".   The FAA has granted the UARC America's first license for closed course pylon slalom racing using multiple aircraft.

The 2011 UARC season sees the return of 2010 UARC Champion Dave "Hollywood" Riggs. Mr. Riggs is the holder of five NAA/FAI Aviation World Speed Records, more than any living person, and lead the Fight Game Sports Apparel UARC team to victory in China during 2010.  Among the competitors who pundits consider front runners during the 2011 season are challenger Torrey "Superman" Ward Flying for the O.N.E. Ward is an American Military contract pilot who honed his skills flying covert mission in the skies above the Middle East.

"Superman is about to meet the airborne equilivent of Kryptonite I promise you" says Riggs. "At Point five Mach flying wing tip to wing tip pulling G's and watching the pylons come at you like toothpicks in a tornado is my photo and wallpaper not some cartoon show it's the real deal"  

Taking a break from race practice in the Mojave desert Ward replied "It's one thing to talk a good game and another to put your life on the line and win".  

Riggs and Ward along with five other competitors Craig Schulze, Dave Lafaille, Chris 1086274749  Rounds, Danny Bond and Eric Zine face off in the fist American event slated for August 20-21 in Camarillo, California near Los Angeles.

The two day event includes aerial performances by the Red Bull Stunt Helicopter, The Goodyear Blimp, US Military Jet Fighter Demonstration Teams and World War II Vintage Aircraft displays.
