PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 19, 2011 – London Southend airport has officially opened its new control tower in tandem with the opening of a new train station for the airport. The control tower which has been waiting to open since the end of April is fitted with the latest technology and provides improved views of the runways for traffic controllers.
The new station which cost £12million will be run by the owner of the airport th my photo and wallpaper e Stobart Group the first train arrived at 0405. The Stobart Group hope the new station will push traffic figures up to 2 million a year by the end of 2020, proof of which is provided by the signing of a new deal with EasyJet to operate 70 flights a week from next April.
Other development works in the pipeline are the extension of the runway by 300 meters which has already begun and the completion of a terminal building which is expected by the end of next year.
The new control tower replaces the old one which w oled technology on mobile phone as only a temporary structure 531276856 built in the 1960's.
